Zero Hunger

Ensuring access to sufficient and nutritious food for all, with a special focus on vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the elderly.

Goal 1: Zero Hunger

End Hunger and Promote Sustainable Nutrition for All

At Hriday Foundation India, we believe that no individual should go to bed hungry. Guided by SDG 2: Zero Hunger, we work to ensure access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food for all, with a special focus on vulnerable populations including children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women, and the elderly.

Our Key Interventions

  • Awareness & Behaviour Change: Conducting nutrition awareness campaigns that promote balanced diets, healthy cooking practices, and mindful eating habits.
  • Community Nutrition Programs: Supporting initiatives such as mid-day meals, community kitchens, and food banks to provide equitable access to nutritious meals.
  • Tackling Malnutrition: Addressing stunting, wasting, and micronutrient deficiencies in children under five, while strengthening dietary diversity for women and older persons.
  • Food Waste Reduction: Encouraging responsible consumption, food recovery, and redistribution models to minimize wastage and ensure resources reach those in need.
  • Capacity Building: Partnering with institutions and community groups to build knowledge and skills around sustainable agriculture, nutrition-sensitive farming, and food storage.

Through these efforts, Hriday Foundation India works to create a food-secure future, ensuring that hunger and malnutrition are not barriers to growth, learning, and well-being.
